A ceremony on the patio runs $2,750, one time, and that single fee covers more than the chairs. It includes 30 minutes of guest arrival, a 30-minute ceremony, a rehearsal beforehand, chairs and setup, an aisle with a grand reveal, photo spots, indoor restrooms and a weather backup plan.

That last item matters on a river in Michigan. Nobody wants a forecast deciding the ceremony, and the backup plan means booking the patio does not gamble the whole day on the sky.

Sunset over the water, and how to time it

Sunset lands over the water to the west here, so a patio ceremony timed toward evening puts the sun going down behind the skyline while Belle Isle sits quietly on the opposite horizon. One river, doing two different things depending which way you are facing.

How early to start depends on the season and the guest count more than any fixed rule, so it is worth talking through with the venue coordinator running your night rather than guessing from a checklist. What holds true every time: the window for that light over the water is short, and a ceremony built around it should not run long.

The hydraulic dance floor installed in 1961 still rises at the push of a button, and the original stage, where Motown acts once performed, sits at one end of the room. What the day costs, view included

A Belle Isle view reception is priced the same way any Roostertail wedding is: a per-person package, a site fee, and the ceremony fee only if the ceremony happens here too. The per-person price runs $149, $179 or $219, and that figure already has tax and gratuity built into it.

The site fee is a range, $4,500 to $9,500, set by the per-person rate, guest count, date, time and room, and a higher per-person spend brings it down.
