How we handle your information

The Roostertail is a family-owned event venue at 100 Marquette Drive, Detroit, Michigan 48214. This page explains what we collect when you use roostertail.com, why, and what we do with it. We keep it short because there is not much to say: we run a venue, not a data business.
What we collect
What you send us. When you use the Let's Talk form, call, or email, we receive what you give us: typically your name, email address, phone number, event type, date and guest count, and anything you write in the message. We use it to answer you, quote your event, and follow up about it.
How the site is used. We use analytics and heatmap tools to see which pages people visit, where they click, and where they leave, so we can make the site clearer. These tools record pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you move through a page. They may record anonymized session replays. They do not read what you type into forms.
Advertising. We use the Meta pixel to measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people to the site and to show our ads to people who have visited. It records pages viewed and that an inquiry was sent, never what the inquiry says. You can limit this in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.
Cookies. The site uses a small number of cookies so the analytics tools can tell one visit from another. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
How we use it
To reply to inquiries and book events. To send you information you asked for. To understand how the site performs. If you give us your email through the form, we may send you occasional updates about the venue; every one of those includes a way to stop them.
Who else sees it
Inquiries are stored in the customer relationship system our sales team uses, hosted by a third-party provider. Site usage data is processed by our analytics and heatmap providers. Each of these companies handles data under its own privacy policy and on our behalf. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Tickets for public events such as Christmas at the Tail and Yacht Rock Detroit are sold on separate sites run by those events. Their privacy policies apply once you leave roostertail.com.
How long we keep it
Inquiry records stay in our system so we can serve you if you come back, which many of our guests do. Analytics data is kept for as long as the provider retains it, then discarded. Ask us and we will delete what we hold on you, unless we need it to complete a booked event or to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@roostertail.com or call (313) 822-1234 and we will handle it. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.
Children
The site is meant for adults planning events. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
