Welcome to the Roostertail! Our modern and private facility is
renowned for its location on the Detroit waterfront, unique dining
atmosphere, fashionable décor and first-class customer
service. When all of these factors work together, it creates what
our clientele call the "Roostertail experience." We
have been "home" to generations of Detroiters and are
proud of our grand traditions for excellence and First-in-Class
status as a Detroit icon.
The Tail, as it is sometimes affectionately referred to as, was
originally built in 1958 by the Schoenith family. As host to some
of the most talked about parties in the city of Detroit, including
the famous hydroplane boat races, it has continued on as the waterfront
entertainment complex.
Owners Tom and Diane Schoenith have taken the family business
and expanded it from its auspicious beginnings to include hosting
proms, weddings, New Year's Eve parties, Mother's Day Brunches,
promotional events, fundraisers and corporate events.
